About this app

Poverty surrounds the city of Rajahmundry. Most of the villagers are uneducated and so poor that they must send their young ones to labor and earn for the family, rather than provide them with an education. Medical care and services are non-existent outside of the city and the villagers typically do without them. More often than not, their poverty prevents them the option to hire an auto, pay the doctor’s fee, pay for tests required if any, and the cost of medicines.

God specifically called Bishop John Lazarus Pachigalla to preach the gospel to the poverty-stricken villages surrounding the city of Rajahmundry. He left the church he was serving with his father as an associate pastor and came to reach these downtrodden people with God’s Word. At that time there were no recognized churches in the vicinity of these villages and the gospel message had scarcely reached the area. By faith, the church was started in 1991 in the city of Rajahmundry, in their rented house with only five people present.

God blessed the work and the church grew fast in leaps and bounds. At the opportune time, the Lord provided a five-acre piece of land on which the church was built. And Rock Church stands in a perfect position to minister to the poor, on the outskirts of the city of Rajahmundry where it is surrounded by several small villages.

True to His Word, God continues to provide miraculously and the Church in Rajahmundry is now more than one thousand strong. There are four hundred and fifty Rock Branch Churches affiliated with Rock Church of India, the biggest having a congregation of about five hundred and the smallest with around thirty members.

Through the prayers and support of God’s faithful servants in India and across the world, Rock Church of India strives to perform its part in fulfilling the Great Commission!
