I wanted to donate using my Google Play account, but it's not available. I think the option would be helpful for more donations. Maybe not a lot of people would use that method of payment, but every dollar makes a difference. Update: After I read other comments on here I realized the issue with not being able to confirm the information I entered wasn't a glitch or bug on my phone. People that are missing rely on people being in the know so an app like this that doesn't work is useless! I understand if it's a bug in the app, but the app is made by the NCMEC so I hope ya get it working, and fast.

I have tried multiple times to load my childs information onto this app. I am a 911 dispatcher and a trainer, and while checking the NCMEC site for their training, I found this app, which could be wonderful. unfortunately this app has low ratings, and I understand that NCMEC in a non profit, but this app is no good if you can'/ use it. This would be a wonderful tool, especially for school resource officers to share , and especially anyone with special needs. App will not confirm once you are done

I heard about this app from a true crime podcast. I was really excited about the idea, so I went through all the steps, created the profile, did the fingerprints and everything, and at the very last step which is to confirm the profile, it doesn't do anything. I tried it 3 different times on 3 different days and each time the confirm button is inactive. Very disappointed as I was really excited about this. Don't waste your time with this.

I too cannot Confirm my child's info. Looks like this issue has been going on for months now. It was a good app until I recently got a new phone and so had to download the app again. I think there is a similar FBI app I'll have to try.

The pictures are to small to see clearly, when I click on one it goes to report sighting. I thought it would show bigger pictures. How are you supposed to recognize a pick of someone that is only as big as a thumbtack

I tried looking at the missing children for my state. I clicked on about 4 names and it gave me an error message. This app helps no one! I expected better because of the importance of finding missing children. Uninstalled. It deserves negative stars.

About this app

Protecting your family is a little easier with Safety Central!

Developed by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, the leading nonprofit in the fight to keep children safe, Safety Central is designed to make sure that parents have the tools they need to help them protect their families and act quickly should their children go missing.

At the core of Safety Central is a digital Child ID Kit. One of the most important tools for law enforcement when searching for a missing child is an up-to-date, good quality photo along with descriptive information. A Child ID kit is a simple yet effective way to keep those tools right at your fingertips. The app, which does not share any of your personal information, reminds you when it’s time to update your photos and allows you to store potentially life-saving information about your children in an easily accessible location.

Safety Central does much more than keep track of your personal child ID kit! You can download educational tips and resources from NCMEC’s award-winning educational team, stay up to date on news and events and help law enforcement find missing kids. Users can also join our mission by donating to NCMEC directly through the app.
Safety Central is a free download thanks to a generous gift from NCMEC’s partner, EMCOR.
When more families and law enforcement have access to the resources like those found in Safety Central, families can be better educated about the risks their children face, law enforcement will have more tools at their disposal, more missing children will come home safely and more children will have the childhoods they deserve, free from victimization.

John Walsh, “This may be the most important App you can have on your device.”
