This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Adventure Cycling TransAmerica on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

I have yet to use it on a tour but it sure looks like something I'd loved to have had when I did the Southern Tier three years ago! I have only downloaded the sample section for the TransAm so far but it shows the ACA POIs just fine and if you have cell signal you can do a Google search from the Search page to find anything else you need. Kinda shocked that you cannot see the prices of the sections until you hit the BUY button!!! huh???? Prices should be on the "Online Catalog" page OR on the section description, PLEASE. It's a Great beginning.,Hope it will be available for the Northern Tier before next summer... Hint hint....

About this app

The classic route to cross America by bicycle! Grand parks along the TransAmerica Trail include Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks, among the best in the United States. One additional treat: because this route has been ridden by cyclists for years, many of the cafes, restaurants, and overnight accommodations along the route have kept journals consisting of entries written by cross-country riders from previous years, providing you with a cyclist's history of the route. Plan on around three months (give or take) for the crossing. Some traverse the route quicker, but this leaves less time for sightseeing.

Purchase route and services data directly from the app. Similar to the physical maps, it has the information you need on the road. Show or hide bicycling services such as campsites, bike shops, lodging, and towns. Use embedded Google search for even more services. See reviews and make a call right from the app. Calculate distance between two points on the route and see the elevation profile. Switch between Google maps and OpenCycleMap for even more detail, and download the map so it works without cell service.
