I now have the 3 onx platforms! Off-road, hunt, and backcountry! I'm really enjoying the backcountry onX, information that is given along with the details for hiking! Trail numbers, elevation gains, when the trail was developed, and a bit of info about the area/ trail. Plus, no matter where you are located, onX has never let me down. From dirt biking, finding my way, or exploring new trails. It has given me confidence, of not ever getting lost, to property boundaries. Thank you onX!!!!!!!

Went Offline and the map went blank. I downloaded offline maps and left cell service and onX just wouldn't show anything. Totally broken. If I can't trust this it's worthless. (I bought a subscription during a sale, thought I'd give it a try. Good interface and advertised features... Too bad)

Does it work? Sure. Is there a common sense approach at onX how things should be integrated? Not even close. Want to look at all the climbing spots along your proposed hiking route through the web interface, which they HEAVILY push you to use for your hiking planning? Aight gonna happen, bud. You have to open the app side by side with the web interface because the app has fantastic details on route locations, whereas the web interface just says 'Climbing area'. Then there's the Elite thing...

If you are having any issues, Grace will be right on it if you contact onX. This app is super if you take your time to learn it. I have the other apps too and am evaluating which one will be my primary. I probably won't drop any of them. OnX does give you the option of going topo and satellite (hybrid) which the others give you separately. Also slope angles and more.

I am a long-time user of GaiaGps and sometime user of AllTrails. I was hoping to find a new application to address some of the map issues I have with GaiaGps. I liked that the map did not appear to be Open Street Map based and I liked the elevation rate coloring and the general look of the map. But I stopped using it because the onX Backcountry maps are missing too many trails and have errors. When I first bought the subscription, I sent feedback on some missing trails (Google Maps, Gaia, AllTrails OSM all have them) and obvious errors (one trail where one does not exist, a road going through a lake, a road in the ocean). None of these were fixed in the almost a year since I reported them. Having an accurate representation of the actual trails is the most important feature for me. I don’t feel there is sufficient effort in maintaining the map to justify continuing the subscription especially when Gaia and AllTrails have more accurate maps. I really wanted to like this a but I cannot recommend it.

Pretty interface, but big issues with functionality, accuracy. Weather pop up is like a virus that won't go away. If offline it won't turn off, it covers much of the screen, voids other menus. Map is poor resolution. The trail colors and graphics are great, but are inaccurately located. I never had my position show close to the trail I was on. I compared directly to other mapping programs that were accurate. The program is far too dependent upon being online for smooth functionality. Needs work
