The application runs hidden and monitors the accelerometers in the phone, and if the phone is moving enough that it might be in a moving car, the no-texting message pops up. The application starts as soon as the phone is turned on or unlocked. The message does cover the on-screen keypad, so it works as a great reminder to watch the road, not your phone. The message is displayed three different times, and clears after that in case there's a real need to text or call. It's just annoying enough that it might prevent an accident.
