About this app

This application is a part of my master thesis project supervised by Jonathan Pierini: Delta.
Delta is my master's degree thesis project where
I've analyzed the depressed area of the Po river delta.
I collaborated with Cecilia Monina, a writer: we made a series of explorations in this territory, inspired by the 90's works of Gianni Celati - writer - and Luigi Ghirri - photographer - to collect visual and audio notes. We used these materials to output them into a book, Delta Volume 1, and in a smartphone app that
I have developed.
The purpose was to revaluate the territory of the
Po river Delta. To tell our story but also the story
of the people we met and of the desolated places
we passed trough.

This application is geolocalized and it behaves differently if you are outside or inside
the territory of the delta.
From the outside you can enjoy the multimedia contents of the archive, designed as a playlist,
and interact with the map, where I pinned down interesting and unconventional places to see.
If you are inside you can go hunting down new geolocated contents: these are connected with the place where they are found: they interact with it,
in this way digital and real augment each other.
As an example: if you visit the abandoned 80's disco and open up the app, a disco song starts, and the building lives again.
