Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Truth Jar on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

About this app

Have you ever wanted to look up a verse from the Bible, but couldn't because you didn't have a good internet connection? This is the app for you. Version 2 of the app (Android 5.0 and up) will require an internet connection to download your favorite translation of the Bible, after this you no longer need an internet connection to use the app (though it does use the internet to serve the banner ads) it will periodically check if new translations are available and allow you the choice to download them. (Version 1 never needs an internet connection as it already has three versions built in - thus the much larger initial app download.)

As you go through your day, and you start to feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, you can open up the Truth Jar for a tiny nugget of truth from the Word of God.

This app will display a random verse just by touching the jar on screen. That is the purpose of the app.

This is not meant to be a Bible reading app, as there are already plenty of those available (Bible Gateway and YouVersion to name two). This is meant just to get a quick random verse - a reminder of God's love and truth. Though you can advance to the next or previous verses - still only one verse at a time will show.

You can also search for a specific verse instead of just letting the app pick one at random.

Two color modes - dark and light are provided for easier viewing of the app.

A share function has also been implemented and you may share the verses directly to a social network. Although, due to Facebook policies, they are not supported with automatic posting - though you may manually copy and paste to Facebook.

New features

Version 2 is available for Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and up. With a completely new interface to leverage the features of the new OS. Pre-lollipop devices can still get the previous version of the app.
Misc bug fixes.
