You are here right in the middle of the Shikoku Island called “Navel of Shikoku”. This region has been regarded as one of the three least explored regions in Japan.
There are many unparalleled unique and attractive tourist sites such as:
Iya where you find Kazura bashi (bridge) closely related to the fleeing Heike,
World-wide known rafting spot in Ōboke・Koboke gorges of Yoshino River,
Iya gorge where runs Iya Kaidō recently listed in the Michelin’s guide book,
Oku-Iya, called a paradise on earth, with natural beauty and historic relics,
Yokai village where upon entering you would feel as if yokais still live there.
After or between the trips you may rest and refresh in the hot spring village full of esoteric atmosphere by tasting the fruit of mountains or rivers, drinking exquisite tea and sake.
This application is the navigation application Miyoshi City created to help you directly experience on your own the wonderful scenery and culture of Ōboke and Iya regions which have been cherished and preserved over one thousand years.
You may choose one out of eight tour courses which we have chosen especially for you. And then you are now off for “The One Thousand Year Old Hide and Seek” !
