About this app

Do you have a spare Android phone lying around which you no longer use but want to put to good use? Read on, if your answer is yes.

* Do you want to keep a log of how long your generator runs every day/week/month?
* Do you want to keep a log of when electricity from your power supply company goes off and when it comes back?
* Do you want to keep a daily log of when your water supply starts and when it shuts off? This can be done by the app with some DIY rigging of the phone charger. Will put a project link soon.

If your answer was a 'Yes' to any one of the above questions, then you are at the right place.

All you need to do is to install this app on your spare android phone and put it for charging at the plug-point for which you want to keep a log of. For example, if you want to keep track of your generator running times then select a plug point where you get only generator power(usually, this is the point from where generator connection is given to your premises) and connect the phone there. And if you want to keep track of amount of time your power supply company provides you with electricity connect the phone where you get power supply only from the company(usually this is the 16amp points where you connect AC/Refrigerator/Washing machines).

This app uses the charging state of the phone to record events of power shutdown or power startup. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that the phone with this app is connected to the power point which you want to monitor and is left connected to this power point without disconnections.

Using the provided menu options you can even export the data you have collected over the time. The resulting file is a csv file which you can open in applications like MS Excel and use it as you want it. You can also export a month's data as a picture. The picture can, then, be shared with your supply company, for example.

Disclaimer: Please provide sufficient safeguards to protect your phone from power spikes when you are connecting the phone for charging at these points.

New features

Added a way to enter Start/Stop events manually if they get missed by the phone, somehow.
