This app is a total rip-off! I had difficulties scheduling the time, but I figured I'd go ahead with the transaction and change or cancel later. Only once the charges went thru, I could review my parking session and find out the location I picked does not open in time for my event! So I tried to cancel but no can do! So I called support only to find out (unlike stated in the app) all transactions are final! AND THEN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE HUNG-UP ON ME. As stated, total rip-off.

I can understand not issuing a refund if parking is already paid fo, but there can at least be a credit option where you apply the extra money if you accidently paid for a parking session from an old vehicle and etcetra. Parking is aready expensive and you all want to keep someone's money just because. It's already annoying to pay for parking just to go to work but this is out of control.

The app is great when it works. However, most of the time, I am not able to complete a transaction. The error message is usually regarding connectivity issues. But, I do not have connectivity issues with other apps on wifi, etc. I can only hope that the city of Detroit will take serious efforts to improve this app and apparent connectivity issues.

For pulling up to a space and parking, it's a good app. It seems to have a feature that you could pay for parking in the future (which would be amazing because parking starts at 7, and well, I'm not always up by 7) designated by a button that says "upcoming" and the ability to choose different days and times, but this feature does not work, and the next screen consistently took me to a screen for the current date and time to "confirm" that I wanted to choose that time.

This updated Detroit Parking app is messy! I forgot my password, requested a new password, received an 8-digit numerical password by email, and I was able to log in. However, when I tried to change the password to one of my own choosing ( Password Modification), I can't. An error message pops up under current (numerical password: "Password entered is invalid". How is this possible when you just emailed it to me?! So now I can't enter a new one. I'm stumped! What a big waste of time!

Improved experience since the developers added the direct zone lookup. Still don't know whether the update fixed the unnecessarily complicated time picker or the repeated attempts to track location after permission was denied. Still though, doesn't perform any better than the perfectly working web app that was discontinued for no reason, and I prefer not to download random apps that pester me for location access.
