I used this app for more than a year. App not great relative to other recipe apps. Web portal looks bad. App was faster after you paid to remove ads, but still less nice than average. I recently factory reset my phone and lost all my recipes so I'm going to rebuild on a better app.

When it works it does so reasonably well. But it's quite buggy in some respects: it takes multiple tries to open (it usually hangs during the first 2 or 3 attempts & needs to be force-closed. This also happens more often when I'm offline than online), and it seems to freeze or crash a lot. As far as features, this app is good but not great. On the other hand, it's the only halfway decent recipe manager that doesn't require signing up for an account.

Great app. - Cookmate is my first recipe app. I chose it because it offered not only import, but also the ability to export recipes into a couple of formats. The app is well designed, works flawlessly and is continually maintained. Highly recommended! // Some users complain about limited no. of recipes: In free vers. you can store unlimited no. of _local_ recipes. // Wishlist: Scanning of recipes; abilty to link to other recipes (e.g. sauce or side dish)

Great app! I got another app similar to this which has a better pantry feature. I would pay twice as much for this app if it had the Cooklist pantry stuff. The Cookmate cookbook is far superior to any other (including Cooklist) that I have ever tried! I am extremely happy with this app!

I've been using this for a couple of years to build my own cookbook of sorts. The UI takes a few minutes to get used to, but once you figure out everything it's not bad at all. You can export to internal storage to Dropbox. I usually go to internal storage and share to Google Drive for easy backup (use MCB file type and it'll save your images too). Anyway, this is serviceable and good. Definitely hands off enough to give you total control. Would recommend.

Love this app. I agree with others that the UI can be a bit of a learning curve, but it really is a wonderful place to store all of those great recipes you gather over the years. I love that you can easily import recipes from websites to keep all of your favorites in one place, and you can even edit the ingredients/steps in case you like to add/swap something. Searching is great, because I can search one ingredient I would like to use up and it comes up with all recipes that use it.
