Grâce à l’application officielle inaugurée en avril 2015, découvrez l’abbaye de Royaumont - trésor de l’architecture monastique cistercienne créée par Saint-Louis au XIIIème siècle magnifiquement préservée – telle que vous ne l’avez encore jamais vue.

Pour une première découverte, le parcours intitulé « au fil du temps » vous permettra d’aborder les 11 points d’intérêts principaux de la visite, bâtiments historiques et jardins signés, sous l’angle de leurs principaux usages et transformations ou restauration au cours des siècles. Des notices vous permettront d’en savoir plus sur des éléments de décoration ou de mobilier, quelquefois invisibles à l’œil nu ou d’entendre le son des orgues Cavaillé Coll ou roman conservés dans le réfectoire des moines.

Deux parcours thématiques, Saint-Louis à Royaumont et L’Hôpital des Dames Ecossaises, vous plongeront dans deux époques bien particulières de l’histoire de l’abbaye : dans le premier parcours, les rapports singuliers entretenus par Saint-Louis avec l’abbaye de Royaumont tout au long de sa vie seront traduits par des textes et vitraux témoignant d’épisodes de la vie du roi aux côtés des moines ; dans le second, vous découvrirez à travers des photos d’archive et documents émouvants, l’abbaye de Royaumont transformée en hôpital de guerre ayant soigné près de 10 000 blessés entre 1915 et 1918.
