Due to end of roaming charges the EHIC app is offline, makes no sense.

Does not work anymore. Should be removed from the store.

Did nothing. Kind of pointless.

Unfortunately I didn't realise our cards were no longer valid. Easy to install and complete the online form for renewal of card. Unfortunately I am travelling tomorrow and the card will not be here, but through the app I found the phone number if I require the information on our EHIC application emailed to the health care provider without having the card available. Thanks

I like the fact that it's translated in every language. Explanation on how to use the card is consise and simple which is great. I just hope it will be accepted in the other countries without any hassle. I had my card for years and never used it as I had no idea you could get a refund. A real shame!

I don't see the point of this app. It does not replace your card, it simply gives offline information about the different types of cards and usage. Only practical feature seems to be it can remind you your card will need renewing... in like 5 years or so. I don't see the likelihood of me having this phone for that long, also my calendar does the same. 1 star, would not use again.

About this app

Guide on how to use the European Health Insurance Card in the 28 EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. It includes general information about the card, emergency phone numbers, covered treatments and costs, how to claim reimbursement and who to contact in case you have lost your card, as well as a card expiry reminder function. All this information is also available while your smartphone is offline. The app is available in 25 languages with easy option to switch from one language to another.

Please note that:
• Due to technical, legal and privacy reasons, the app does NOT replace the card. The card cannot be generated or downloaded for use.
• The EHIC does NOT replace travel insurance.
• The European Commission is NOT responsible for issuing EHIC cards, which are issued for free by your national health insurance provider.
• When using the application for the first time some data needs to be downloaded (approx. 25MB). You will be charged for this according to your internet connection. We recommend that you download all data before travelling abroad.
