Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Mono Lite for KLWP on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

How to set up Mono Lite:


1 - Make sure you have KLWP with a KLWP Pro license installed on your device, otherwise Mono Lite will not work.

2 - You first need to setup the KLWP application, open the app, go through the setup process, make sure to allow the app necessary permissions.

3 - Find a compatible launcher (e.g. Nova Launcher) and install it, set the launcher as your default by pressing your home button, selecting you new launcher and pressing always, then go through the setup process of the launcher. After doing that go to your launcher settings, remove every icon and widget from you home screen, disable the status bar and any gestures inside the launcher.

4 - Now that you've got an empty home screen, open Mono Lite for KLWP and select the wallpaper, you will be greeted with a settings screen, if there is a pop-up telling you that there are missing permission, click "fix" and allow every requested permission. If everything is okay, there should be a pop-up on the settings screen telling you to set your home screen wallpaper to KLWP. Set your wallpaper to KLWP and press the home button.

5 - Some button on the home screen might not fit your device (e.g. there is a Reddit icon but you do not have Reddit installed on your phone), to fix this, open KLWP and change to necessary settings, if you are new to KLWP there are many tutorial on YouTube that can help you manage your KLWP wallpaper. If YouTube does not help feel free to message a developer on our Discord server for assistance.



FAQ:


Q: My apps don't open. Why's that? How can I change the app displayed on the home screen?
A: Because you might be using a different client. You can change he the apps by going into the container (KLWP setting menu) which has them (it has their name in it so it'll be hard to miss). The action to open the app can be changed by going into Touch > Open app > Select the app you want. Of course, you can also change the shortcut names so you can have any app you want displayed on your home screen.

Q: My screen looks odd, why's that?
A: Most likely because you have a different screen ratio. The presets are optimized for 18:9 screens and it might look strange on other display ratios. This can be easily fixed by moving some items in Root, if you are having trouble, message a developer on Discord.
