It show only the map with number of pictures by location, no previews unless you click on it one by one. Not possible to open picture full screen. Not possible to link photos from Google photo account. App useless

Showed my groups of photos on the map ok but I couldn't view any of the photos. Clicking on a marker just kept zooming in. Now I know how to use it I am really pleased with it.

Network access: Only to load the maps and for the ads
Location: Only to show your location on the map
Write SDcard: Only to cache maps and reduce your traffic
Accounts: Only to access google services in order to load the maps

*** IMPORTANT ***
You must enable the feature to save GPS position with photos in your camera app.
Only photos taken AFTER enabling this feature will show up on the map!
