Ora-X presents Fade2Black (F2B) watchface, one of the final entry in the 2016 Google and Paper Magazine competition for unique watchface designs.
The dial combines perfectly analog and digital indications, making the reading of time immediate both for those likes the flow of the hands of an analog dial, and for those who prefer the numbers of a digital clock.
The dial is divided into 12 sectors, the flow of time is indicated by a 24h digital hour combined with a minute hand, both within the white illuminated sector relative to the current hour, so you can read the time both in analog (the white sector) and digital mode. Seconds are indicated by a dot around the central sphere containing the indications of date and day of the week, digital minutes, smartwatch/smartphone battery levels and today weather forecasts. You can choose which of this information show by pressing it.
Every hour the sector 'jumps' to the next one, in this way also at distance you will always read the time and see the minute hand to have the current time with good approximation.
The dial background fades from the selected color to black, making your smartwatch colorful and yet elegant. You can cycle from 8 brilliant color schemes plus one dark scheme for those who prefer a lower brightness (eg.in the evening or at the movies).
F2B works with circular and square display, and in case your smartwatch has a circular display with 'flat tire', the 'cut' at the bottom (eg.Moto360), the fade to black is automatically reversed downward, to hide the 'flat tire', and at the passage of the sector in the bottom two hours (from 5:00 to 6:59) the digital hour is moved closer to the center to remain visible.
The dim mode keeps the dial design visible, with the addiction of an anti-burnin protection pattern. Battery level is indicated by a thin circular line that decrease as the battery level goes down.
