This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing LinkBike on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.

The concept is actually quite good. However, there 3 major problems. 1) I was charged with RM 50 but I only applied for 1 day pass. 2) The 1 day package actually cost RM 5 where RM 3 is for the ride and RM 2 is for the package. You should've mention this information clearly unless you're trying to rob us. 3) Everytime I open the app on a different day, it won't open and only shows blank white page. It seems many others are experiencing same issues. 1 star will remain until you refund my RM 45 .

Something wrong with this apps, developer need to fix bugs. When you try to open another time, apps crashed. Linkbike does not mentioned clearly about to hold RM50 for deposit. I bought 1 day pass RM2. Need to wait another 7 days to get my RM50 refund. Not really user friendly. Feeling cheated by link bike. Should clearly mentioned about hold RM50 deposit at all stations. Put a big notice about that. RM50 is a big amount. *no star but playstore require 1 star to post a review.

Great Bike Share System, easy to use, had contact their customer service, their customer service is very friendly (call during operation hours), answer all my inquiry as they can. According to them, they will launch a new beta version with better UI to further improve the current application, I am very looking forward to it, let's make penang a greener state together!!!

I don't recommend this app. Awesome initiative to go carless in Penang but the bikes along with this app is not well maintained. I could only open the app on day 1, the directions option to nearest LinkBike station is useless & one station in Georgetown (near Chew Jetty) was broken so you can park but can't take your bike out. Payment also don't require TAC number so I don't feel secure.

Nonsense app that doesn't mention why users are charged RM50 when buying an RM2 day pass. Nonsense customer service that never picks up despite claiming an 8am-8pm daily availability. Full of bugs for Android, how did these app developers ever get the job and how come 2 years on the issues are still the same? Not to mention needing to reinstall each time I want to use the app?

Worst app ever!! It just deduct rm50 from your account without you even confirming it! It didn't gives any heads up about the payment at all. THIS APP IS A SCAM AND NOT RECOMMENDED at all. Always crashed need to reinstall it every time I want to open it. The customer service line useless called it countless of time but no one pick it up!

LinkBike is taking commuting to a new level

PENANG is one step closer to be a liveable and international city. Apart from building a 39.3 KM dedicated bicycle lane from Straits Quay to Penang International Airport, now the city will be linked with bicycle lanes and commuters have the convenience of BSS.

LinkBike BSS operated by FAST RENT BIKE (PG) Sdn. Bhd. is an initiative by Penang Island City Council (MBPP) to make Penang an international city like Melbourne, Amsterdam, Tokyo and others. MBPP is working closely with the operator to set up 25 strategic locations in George Town and also Queensbay and Straits Quay.

LinkBike will redefine a new way to connect and commute within George Town, Penang. Anyone can pick up a bike from any of the 25 stations and return it to another station. It is as simple as a scan on the QR Code to release the bicycle. These bikes serve as a short distance transit vehicle to reduce/replace use of motor vehicles, avoid traffic congestion and reduce environmental pollution.

With the BSS, one can also cycle to Straits Quay or Queensbay on the scenic coastal lane. Penang is on its way to connect the last mile which is part of the Penang Transport Masterplan. In future, one can hop on and off the LRT and grab a bike to reach their destination.
