This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing YI Dash Cam on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

Hit or Miss. It works as advertised if it can connect to the camera, but most of the time it doesn't connect. If you need to view the footage on your phone, an SD card reader would be far more reliable than this app. The list of permissions is also very concerning.

This app is working perfectly, providing you check your firewall is not causing a connection issue, because I found out mine did. Even though the firewall app was set to pass the Yi app through the firewall, for some reason the firewall (NoRoot firewall) stopped it. Currently only option is to disable it as and when I want to connect to the car cameras.

When I bought the dashcam, I was looking forward to the accompanying app to make it easy to view and download the footage over WiFi. It's not quite as straightforward as that. The app connects to the dashcam via a local wireless network and then you can select which clips to download to make a local copy on your phone. After many times trying to get my phone to connect to the dashcam, it then VERY SLOWLY downloads your clip. It's FAR FAR EASIER to take out the SD card and shove it in your PC.

Although good app but in Android I'm not able to download the videos from the camera. I can download the videos using the Apple app. Please fix the issue. I'm using Google pixel 3.

Unable to connect at all. Have tried the restarts and tried redownloading the app. Really annoyed as I used to love this app. Fix your operating system!

If You love failing to connect device wifi. Get this app. New user. App has tremendous problem to connect to Yi dashcam. I reset 5 times,reinstalledapp. still problem. until I reset my phone wifi. booklet needs instruction. Latest app continues to have problem finding Yi Camera wifi. The location permission is unnessary as the dashcam does not have gps. The dashcam firmware needs to be updated. Yi stopped firmware supports? no way to find firmware update.
