2016 marks Brentwood Veterinary Hospital's 40th anniversary and we couldn't be more excited! Obviously, a lot has changed since the humble beginnings of Brentwood Vet Hospital 40 years ago! Changes in staffing, advances in veterinary medicine and our understanding of animals’ needs have grown, along with the community of Brentwood. BVH has reflected these changes both inside and out. What started as a small one doctor practice in the shadows of Mt. Diablo, has blossomed into a five-doctor, AAHA accredited practice that tries to stay on the cutting edge of medical advancements and treatments. What hasn’t changed is our never ending love of animals and our commitment to their comfort and health.

Located in the heart of Brentwood, we strive to provide an exceptional combination of compassionate staff and leading edge technology. Our team of veterinary professionals wants to become an integral part of your pet’s family. Communication between caretaker, doctor and staff is a key element in your animal’s health.

Dr. Schnittker opened the first Brentwood Veterinary Hospital on Brentwood Blvd in 1973. BVH moved to its current location in July of 1990. The current location was originally designed to house two veterinarians and a staff of 5-10 people. We now employ five veterinarians, six receptionists and six Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) and four veterinary assistants.

Our focus is two-fold: educating you the owner with the information you need to make the right decision on your pet’s care and providing the best treatment available for your pet. In the event of illness or injury, we’ll provide your pet with exceptional medical and surgical care, so that we can get them home where they belong as quickly as possible.
