A family member or other relative leaves home and you want to be alerted if something unexpected happens while they are away (they fail to return when planned, they get lost, etc.). Sure, you can subscribe to a service that monitors their movements, but that can get expensive really fast.

What you want is a way for you to be automatically notified if your loved one is in trouble, in a way that doesn't require tracking the person and without having to rely on a third party.

PeriSecure is an alert system that enables family members and others to safely leave their homes for school, exercise or other purposes without fear of getting lost, while at the same time maintaining their privacy and independence.

PeriSecure is composed of two Android applications: PeriSecure Alert, which executes on the user's phone, and PeriSecure Protect, which runs on a phone, tablet or Chromebook managed by a caregiver chosen by the PeriSecure Alert user as a kind of "guardian angel". For added privacy protection, PeriSecure Alert has no login procedure or anything else that can identify the user.

PeriSecure Alert shows the user their distance and time away from home, notifying them with a beep and a buzz when they are approaching the maximum distance that they had set when starting out, when they should be returning home or if their phone battery is running low.

PeriSecure Protect runs on a phone or tablet and enables an individual to act as a "guardian angel" to one or more users of PeriSecure Alert, receiving notifications whenever a user 's phone had indicated one of the potential problems indicated above or if the user had pressed a "panic button", which becomes active once they are being monitored with PeriSecure Protect. In any case, the guardian angel may phone the user or immediately obtain directions to the user's location.

Note that users of PeriSecure Alert are in control, via an app setting, of whether or not their guardian angel should be notified if any of the above events occur. Optionally, the PeriSecure Alert user may choose to allow their guardian angel to continuously track them.

Used together, PeriSecure Alert and PeriSecure Protect offer an unparalleled tool in ensuring the safety of children an other family members when away from home, while at the same time preserving their privacy.
