If you buy onsite and they give you paper tickets which they scanned as they printed the app is unusable. They will not let you add your ticket to the app once scanned. Without the app you have zero insight into when and where buses are for hopping back on. The "live" map on their website only tells you departure times from first stop. And you have to dig out your 3 ft of paper receipt every time you get on. Makes for a very poor experience.

The top view was good for when we could use it. Buses were packed but that is to be expected. Finding th liberty cruise correct line was difficult. The directions on the app are bad. They get you lost and the times are not accurate. Then it deleted my ticket when I still had a day left on it.

The app is on par with the experience. I regret downloading it as much as I regret believing one of their 15 workers on every corner in NY who lie through their teeth about buses coming every 10 minutes (it took 45 min and then we sat there for 15 minutes before moving. Then it took an hour to go three stops/5 blocks) Their website boasts about being able to get real time updates on bus arrivals. You'd think that would be a great feature to include on the app. Is it there? Of course not.

Wasted a lot of time with app and bus. Better to go straight to location. The walk to find busses is crazy. The bus takes 2 to 3 hours to go around.

This is definitely the best way to see the city.The unlimited hop on and off feature was very useful.I had a good time on the tour.The buses were super neat and the driver was amazing.I totally recommend. The tour was the best part of my trip. The views from the bus were simply amazing.

App update 6-24-21. The app forced an update for today and you cannot view your tickets. When you try to read download code or re-scan QR Code it says tickets have already been downloaded. And for some reason you cannot view them so you are out of luck. Even under the my ticket tab there is nothing available. It wants you to purchase or redownload tickets, which is not doing it. Bought my tickets yesterday 6 at around noon and can even use them as of right now Somebody needs to fix this ASAP!
