This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing TomTom VIO on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. As a courier and delivery rider, this app/device is a must have, however, there are a few cons. If the sun is hehind you and hits the screen, it's impossible to see what's displayed. Also, the turn by turn voice is no longer working. Depending on how long you're using the app for, after a period of time the app doe not sync with the device, resulting in having to reset both app and vio. When it works, it works but using it in areas like Liverpool Street, is a struggle...

not cloud enabled, so does not connect to existing tomtom account! can't reuse car points and routes on bike, have to retype everything. usual TomTom crappy not-joined-up development. worse, there is no backup, so you can't transfer data to new phone, you have to type it all in again.

I dont use it regularly. But when i need it, it delivers. There was once an issue where it led me towards the highway. Got scared a little but was aware enough to stop it. maybe the maps are not 100% foolproof? eitherways other than that it works flawlessly.

User experience not as good as Tomtom Go, but does the job and gets me where I want. Since Android Pie update caller ID is not working properly, does not show contact details, only incoming calls. Will you address this issue in the next update?

very useful so far. would like to be able to change the route slightly i.e drag to the road i would like to go on when planning route but other than that its small doesnt get in the way and has been accurate and good 😀

Works as expected every time., Would be nice if more than one phone could be paired to a single VIO, but that isn't in the remit of this review.
