About this app

Dear lifters, coaches and parents,

On behalf of the IPF, my colleagues from the Executive Committee and I have the honor to welcome you to Oroshaza for the Sub-junior & Junior World Championships.
I hope that everybody enjoys their stay in Oroshaza and I wish all the lifters good luck. I hope your wishes for this Worlds come true.
But let me also remind the coaches and officials that they have a big responsibility to take care of our young lifters. Please ensure that lifters do not drink alcohol and that they go to their rooms at the night without making noise so that the lifters who are still to compete can sleep without disruption.
I want say thanks to the organizer, Mr. Imre Mustafa and to the President of the Hungarian Powerlifting Federation, Mr. Andras Ronaszeki for hosting this World Championship.
Having 266 lifters nominated for this Worlds demonstrates that we are right to run both equipped and RAW competitions because the interest is big in both.
This is good for the sport and for the IPF, and also good for the lifters to have the choice as to which format they wish to compete in.
115 officials are nominated and from this there are 34 referees. This is very much the way we need go, as with that amount of referees we can guarantee a great championship.
I will be there for the technical meeting and for the opening ceremony, unfortunately however I then have to travel back home for work commitments. It is with a great disappointment that I have to do this, as I always enjoy my stay with the lifters and officials. Having missed just one World Championship event from 1999 until now, this will be only my second Worlds where I cannot be present for the competition, but I will certainly be watching it over the live streaming.
I can announce that we will have a good live streaming in Hungary and I hope other lifters, friends and relatives from all over the world will watch the competition over the live streaming. The lifters very much appreciate that you are watching them over the live streaming. The videos will also be posted on YouTube for those who cannot watch it live because of the time difference. In that case, you can watch it over the IPF YouTube channel accessed from the IPF web page.

Good luck and all the best.
Best regards

IPF President
Gaston Parage
