The Dyrt is great, but the app is just ok. We like using The Dyrt to find places to camp, but using the app has become cumbersome since the upgrade, sorry to say. You have to wait for recommendations to load before you can start your search, and it would be nice if I could have it open directly on the map rather than having to select it. Photos rarely load, let alone video. Also different icons for various types of campgrounds (rv parks, campgrounds, dispersed camping) would be helpful.

So I wrote my first review. It was difficult to know when I selected the campsite to write the review if it was the campsite I stayed at as there is no map to help in the selection and at no point could I drop a pin on a map to show exactly where I had stayed for dispersed camping or tent camping without an official campsite name. I logged onto the website and it works much better than the app, I found the appropriate campsite I wanted to review. As Pro, I'll explore more. Will update.

No point in downloading this app, other apps out there that will actually tell you campgrounds with availability for the specific dates that you're looking for. Waste of time

Be aware, the app charges you for 1 year ($38) if you go beyond 1-week trial. It's misleading to think that it would be a monthly renewal when going beyond the trial. I guess the owners realized people were stopping subscription after 1 month. The info in the app can also be found with a simple free google search of camp sites in area. I bought it to look for disperse sites and it doesn't offer any more info than a search through the BLM site.

Oops, my bad. Thanks for responding, and for taking care of a problem that I had no idea I had created. I do love the app and would hate to not have it. I understand what some folks are talking about when it comes to the lag. But it seems to me that it does that due to the shear amount of info that is trying to come down to our devices from the Dyrt god's.

I really wanted to like this app. It came up in every search for campgrounds. I started the trial to check it out. It continues to crash and then competely resets me. It promises to have "free sites / dispersed camping" spots, but it doesn't. The layers was the only cool part, wish i could just have that. I'll stick to IOverlander for now. It is simple in comparison, but has yet to crash.
