Shruti Kamal Haasan is an India Film actress and singer and the daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan and Sarika. She has studied at Abacus in Chennai, until 10th grade, when she moved to Mumbai to study psychology at St Andrew's College.
She debuted as a child artist in "Hey Ram" in the role of a daughter of Sardar Vallab Bhai Patel. After that she was appeared in "Luck" as a lead actress.Apart from acting, she is an amazing singer and sung as a playback singer in many films including Thevar Magan (1992), Chachi 420 (1997), Hey Ram (2000), Luck (2009) etc.
She is one of the leading actresses in the South Indian film industry and popular on social media. 'Shamitabh' actress Akshara Haasan is her sibling. Shruti's first appearance on-screen was in a cameo role in her father's film 'Hey Ram'. But her debut in the film industry as a lead was in the Hindi film titled 'Luck', starring opposite Imran Khan. Her Telugu debut came opposite Siddarth in the Disney film 'Ananagaga O Dheerudu'.
Shruti Haasan is also a well-known musician, singing her first song at the age six for an Illaiyaraaja composition, and later with her father in the film 'Chachi 420'. She also sang the Hindi and Tamil versions of the song 'Rama Rama' in 'Hey Ram'. She is also the vocalist of an alt- rock band 'The Extramentals'.
She earned a nomination for the Best Actress – Telugu award at the 63rd Filmfare Awards South ceremony for her performance in Srimanthudu.The following year, she had two releases: Rocky Handsome and Premam. The latter, a Telugu remake of the 2015 Malayalam-language film of the same name, drew criticism for Haasan's casting before its release.She played the role of a young college lecturer with a slightly stern approach towards her students.The remake gained positive critical reception, and earned average returns. Her Tamil film Si3 had a delayed theatrical release in 2017; it was a commercial success.
