About this app

Surf Advisor is a new (published in July 2021), free app designed for windsurfers, kitesurfers, and surfers. Its main functionalities are:
- Detailed spots guide
- Search engine to find most windy spots for the requested month
- Live reports/notifications from spots (describing current conditions)
- Forecasts from many sources - the most popular weather forecasts are attached to each of the spots (Windguru, Windy, Windfinder, ICM, Magic Sea Weed, Surfline) - to help you make fast forecasts comparisons
- Statistics of user activities and visited spots

Below we present each of the functionalities in more detail:

• Detailed information about spots:
Surf Advisor provides detailed information on over 150 spots, and the number continues to grow as users have the option to add their own spots.

Each of the spots contains information about:
> Exact location of the spot - With navigation function
> Spot type (flat / wave)
> Difficulty level
> Wind / kite / surf schools
> Wind and temperature statistics for each month
> Popularity
> The depth of the water
> Bottom type
> Hotels / Restaurants in the area
> Best wind directions
> Possible dangers (rocks, strong current, etc.)
> Live webcams from the neighborhood
> Measuring stations (wind gauges) in the neighborhood

In addition, the most popular weather forecasts are linked to each of the spots, such as:

> Windy
> Windguru
> Windfinder
> ICM
> MSW (Magic Sea Weed)
> Surfline

• Vacation spot search engine:
Surf Advisor contains a unique functionality, the purpose of which is to help the user find the best spot for a trip/vacation on the date that interests him. The user selects the month of departure and indicates his expectations regarding the wind, temperature, equipment rental, spot type (flat / wave), and the distance from their location. Then our application analyzes all the above parameters and, based on the information about the spots and their wind statistics, selects the spots that best meet the user's expectations.

• Forecasts from multiple sources:
Each spot in the Surf Advisor app has links to all of the most popular weather forecasts available for it. Thanks to this, users can quickly compare forecasts from many sources and on this basis assess where the best wind will be.
The forecasts that you can find in our application are: Windy, Windguru, ICM, Ventusky, Windfinder, MSW, and Surfline. In addition, some spots have linked live cameras and nearby measuring stations (anemometers) - so that users can assess the conditions on the spot even easier.

• Live reports from spots:
Surf Advisor also includes a simple spot condition reporting system. Each user can add to the application information about the conditions on the spot he is currently visiting. All users who are in the vicinity of a given spot or added a given spot to their favorites will be notified of the conditions reported by the author of the report. Thanks to this, they will know whether it is worth going to this spot on a given day, or whether it is better to go elsewhere. Live reports can be commented and easily shared on Facebook, Messenger, etc.

• Activity history and statistics:
In Surf Advisor, we also have the ability to keep statistics of your windsurfing, kitesurfing, and surfing activities. The functionalities included in this screen are:
> Ability to save the spots we have visited and display them on the map
> Ability to view the history of reports added by us.
> More activity tracking functionalities incoming...
