About this app

The inspiration for this free app came from a Dubai-based airline crew member who, too often, had seen her layover allowance disappear in the world’s most glamorous – but high-priced – cities.

Crew members for international airlines and cruise ships get to see amazing places, but they should also be able to enjoy themselves; so Crew Cuts was born – to allow businesses to give something back to hardworking crew. In return, businesses have the pleasure of hosting smart and gregarious people in their bars, shops and restaurants.

The app has special offers and discounts for all bona fide crew of airlines and cruise companies, which can be utilized whether the crew are on layovers or are travelling on vacation. All they have to do is mention the app deal they want to take advantage of and they should be able to produce staff ID if required.

The number of crew travelling the world on any given day is huge – major airlines each have more than 20,000 flying staff, all of whom receive allowances to cover their costs while on layovers.

How they spend this money depends on the city, the airline schedule and where the crew is based. Often, buying grocery items to take home is a higher priority than going to a nightclub, and our experienced crew and ex-crew advisers have helped us to tailor an app that meets the needs of genuine, working travelers. Sometimes the crew need a fun night out, on other occasions they simply need to find great quality, low-cost food near their hotel so they can eat then sleep before flying out again.
