Very easy to communicate with potential new housemates. If you're letting a room, it's usually worth paying the upgrade, as people can initiate contact with you. I also like that there is occasional guidance regarding contracts, legalities, etc. which is great if it's your first time renting out a room in your home.

Great but with a significant problem. The app is well designed, but has a big issue (also the website) - filtering out sublet offers is not working. And it's been causing me problems and miscommunication with the owners. Please fix this issue.

I like this app but its so frustrating that you can't filter out live in landlords. Whether you live with a live in landlord or not makes a huge difference in the amount of rights you have as a tenant. It's a huge factor when looking for a place to live and the fact that I have no way of filtering out live in landlords let's this otherwise great app down

It literally makes you pay just to use it, as it renting properties aren't expensive enough. Asking for a commision is one thing, but making people pay to use functions that are free for every property app except this one is such q joke of a move whoever on the development team who came up with it should be hit over the head with a newspaper.

Many slumlords on this app yet spareroom provides no ranking or public feedback system for bad landlords. The app has lack of basic features. Even more, spareroom is taking advantage of the UK housing shortage and ppls desperation, charging users excessive fees for something that should be free. I paid for two weeks and felt it was a waste of money. There are other apps on the rise that don't make you pay for "early bird" access just to find a place to live.

Plenty of choice on there, but when you send a message to express your interest in viewing a room, they don't get back to you. The messages clearly says Read, but you never get a reply. When you're paying to be able to message landlords and they don't get back to you, its extremely frustrating. Not worth a penny. Should be free. Paying for something that doesn't work. Should make it a requirement for landlords to reply or risk being kicked off. Not cheap either. Get it sorted.
