Latest update ruined user experience. I have used the smugmug app since it's inception. The latest update is horrible. The way folders are organized & displayed. Often it decides which folders to display not showing them all even though they are public. I can only find some if I search for them other times they show. It is difficult to find my galleries in the new version. The previous version paralleled the website organization. The new one is just a big mess. It seems much worse on my tablet.

For the price of unlimited photo and video, its amazing. But beyond that, the lack of Google like search features is unbearable. Besides the search, there are some missing basic ease of use functions. Like on files that failed to upload with error, there is no way to retry beside going to find that specific photo and upload again. Also I can't upload ALL of my photos at once, it only does all by date. And WHY dont the albums have the ability to group by date like the photos is beyond me.

As a photographer, I've looked for places to display my work, build a portfolio, sell images, share albums or photoshoots and ease of use for the (non techy type). Smugmug has been the place. The desktop version is amazing so many features! The mobile app has some features, but obviously not as extensive as the desktop version. However, the mobile version helps me stay active and functional if I'm out and away from my computer until I can return to it. I'd recommend.

Pretty awesome overall. Easy to set up and customize, with very personalized results. Only real beef is the last update forces members to see a Library page of their latest uploads first, before being able to see their customized layout the way a visitor would. This may be useful to some, but it's an annoyance for me, and cannot be changed back to the previous default view.

Have had the app for a few years. Never had problems until the last two weeks. Anytime I try to make a new gallery I get an error message that states "this content is no longer available". I can go through the desktop version and create albums to use but when I go back to the app they cannot be found once created. What the heck?!? The app is a far easier tool for me to use than online version.

Slideshow feature at the top level was removed? Now the only way to display a slideshow of all my photos is by going into Android Screensaver settings, which is a cumbersome and round-about method, and requires configuring SmugMug as a screensaver, which I may not want permanently. The slideshow feature of a single album/gallery is still there, but it's harder to find in the newer versions--hidden in a submenu, rather than a play button on the top bar. Once you do find the slideshow functionality, it is very limited. I can't adjust the most basic parameter of a slide show, which is the time between slides. Another basic parameter would be, do we want the slide show to loop, or not? And what about displaying in random order, or in sequential order? No, all we get is a simple "play" button, and it does whatever it wants.. which seems to be sequential within a single folder, or random in the screen saver mode. I do want to use the slideshow as a screen saver (and this works in the Android screen saver settings), but the constant flipping between pictures every 5 seconds makes me not want to use it! Also, I'd like to have the option to automatically filter out videos. In a screen saver format, having videos be optionally filtered out makes sense. Especially because the sound of a video can be startling! but also because even the visual motion of a moving video (even if the sound is muted) can grab the attention when the function of a screen saver should be a pretty background image that you only have to look at if you want to. We should have all the configuration options (and more) for a screensaver slide show as for a regular slideshow, except it should always loop, default to random order unless configured sequentially, and give the option to filter out videos. Right now the only option is which gallery to display, and that's not nearly enough options. I haven't had a chance to test SmugMug on Android TV recently, and it appears you may have brought that back, and if so I'm glad to see it, and I may try it in the future. I hope it has Daydream support (screensaver) but this is not stated one way or the other in the recent release notes. If this is missing, please bring it back.
