About this app

The Eutelsat Canaletto application allows you to watch Live TV and On Demand content, broadcasted and pushed via satellite, using the Wifi of your Android device.

To use Canaletto services, the following requirements must be met:

1) reception of Canaletto services using Eutelsat Canaletto satellite Set Top Box (STB)
2) Eutelsat Canaletto application installed on your Android device
3) wifi access-point connected to Eutelsat Canaletto STB
4) as an option, a hard drive can be connected on the STB. It will allow to store video content for On Demand services. Without an external hard drive, the viewing of On Demand content is not available.

Note: the Android device uses the wifi access-point to communicate with the Canaletto STB (the Android device and the STB must be on the same local network provided by the access point). The access point must work in DHCP mode to provide a local IP address to both the Canaletto STB and the Android device.

Once the wifi network connection is set, the IP address of the Canaletto STB is automatically discovered setting Canaletto App on Autodetection mode ("Settings" menu).

It is then possible to choose between Live TV and On Demand services and begin the viewing ("Live TV"/"on Demand" menus).

Using an internet connection and choosing "POIs on Map" menu, the App gives you the possibility to find out if (and where) Canaletto STBs are installed in public places (e.g. pubs, restaurants, airports, railway stations, hotels, etc).

To allow the Canaletto STB to share its position:

1) the STB must be up and running (MAC address/IP set, etc.)
2) the STB must be connected on internet (connect the RJ45 cable from the access point to the RJ45 port of the Canaletto box).

Note1: the access point must have an internet connection
Note2: the position sharing is not done using the application

By clicking on the "Open setup page" link at the bottom of the "Settings" menu, it is also possible to manage the Canaletto STB (e.g. monitoring satellite signal quality, restart and shutdown the STB, format the hard drive, listing running processes, etc).
