This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing BGE Smart Home on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. The app crashes occasionally. But, the real bad part is that the rules do not work consistently. They work one day, and fail next day. Very erratic even for simple rules to switch lights on or off at specific times. Unreliable. The geo fencing too has sporadic, erratic functioning. Unable to trust the app, based on my two weeks experience.

completely unreliable. Lights show as off in the app when they are on. Geofencing doesn't work. I get notifications of entry points opening minutes to hours later. Lose power. Its a compleye reinstall to get yhings comnected again. There is mo support yo speak of. I'm glad i didnt pay for this. I huess ots true, yoh only get what ypu pay for.

I installed the app 3 days ago hoping it will help me to reduce energy consumption. However, it has stopped functioning twice; once when, by the rules I set up, it was to turn off a space heater. The app has potential but is currently problematic.

Excellent app! I have peace of mind if I am traveling or on vacation or sleeping. I can now monitor, access and control my lights, door, thermostats, motion and water leak sensors. I can create custom rules and they work great.

All what I wanted is to install a remote control of my new "smart" thermostat. I have not received this option at all. Instead this "spy" app wants access to all my files on my phone.

Downloading the BGE Smart Home app is the first step in getting your smart home up and running.
The BGE Smart Home app guides you through the process of setting up your new smart home technology and helps you seamlessly manage your new devices from a single app. Through the app, you can:

• Control lighting, appliances, smart thermostats and more.
• Receive notifications about your home’s energy use.
