Dahulu sholawat tahrim ini diperdengarkan di hampir seluruh masjid dan musholla di tanah air terutama jawa timur. meski kini intensitasnya tidak seperti dulu, namun shalawat tarhim ini masih sering diperdengarkan selagi menunggu waktu subuh tiba atau sesaat sebelum adzan dikumandangkan. tak heran memang mengingat bait dan syairnya mengandung makna yang dalam. Sholawat tarhim yang populer dan umum diperdengarkan di berbagai langgar dan surau adalah suara dari seorang ulama mesir bernama Syaikh Mahmoud Al-Hussary. beliau yang hidup antara tahun (1917-1980) adalah ulama lulusan Universitas Al-Azhar dan merupakan salah satu Qâri’ (pembaca Quran) paling ternama di zamannya, sampai-sampai ia digelari Shaykh al-Maqâri (sing ahli qiroah). Syaikh Al-Hussary dikenal karena kepiawaiannya dalam membaca Qur’an secara tartîl. tak heran jika suara tarhim subuh yang kita dengar sangat indah dan menggetarkan hati.
