The Project mainly aims at providing opportunities for engaging services of trained man power in urban and semi-urban areas in the state of Andhra Pradesh on an assured and continuous basis.

Malireddy Charitable Trust (MCT) will be the principal Implementing Agency of this Project. MCT is formed at Kakinada in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh as a ‘not for profit’ community service organization for playing a catalytic role in the on-going process of social and economic development of rural and urban poor and lower middle classes. Under license issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, the Trust has been operating FM ‘Radio Ala’ with 90.8 MHz band width since the year 2013. Implementing Agency will play the role of a ‘not-for-profit’ facilitating agency and will provide the full range of technical services needed for effective implementation of the Project.

Our MCT is now organising the very first “Call Auto Rickshaw” service in our Andhra Pradesh at our Kakinada City.

Despite such initiatives aimed at public interest taken by MCT, a wide spread feeling persists among the public that auto-rickshaw drivers are fleecing them with high charges even for short rides. This is basically due to the fact that auto-rickshaws are not metered in our district.

As a solution to the above situation, MCT has worked out “Point to Point’ (P2P)” system under which will be beneficial to both the passengers as well as auto-rickshaw drivers. Under this system, auto-rickshaw drivers are encouraged to register themselves with the “Centralised Call Center” (CCC) of our MCT and passengers will also be encouraged to engage auto-rickshaws through the same CCC. The CCC will then send full information about the auto-rickshaw / driver available for the ride to the passenger. We are sure that this system will ensure fullest passenger safety and will also further the interests of auto-rickshaw drivers.

Following are some of the advantages of this system.

(a) It will be useful to local citizens and also to those who visit the city from outside for various purposes;

(b) Passengers will be able to get auto-rickshaws at their door-step. Need for walking up to the nearest center for auto-rickshaw will not be there;

(c) Senior citizens, physically challenged persons, sickly persons, pregnant women will get benefited the most;

(d) It will be useful to persons arriving into the city by train / bus;

(e) Waiting time for auto-rickshaw will be reduced.

In this context - while informing you that local senior officials of the State Transport Department have been extending their cooperation to us for successful launching our above innovative scheme.
