About this app

Krumbs is a Location-sharing platform with families and friends in mind. This is for the parents who wants to feel more secured whenever their kids go out by themselves, as they can be updated of their kids' whereabouts via this app. This is for the members of a group of friends who does not want to be left out of the latest hangout or happening. This is for everybody, and for anybody who wants to feel connected, for anybody who wants to feel close to home, and for anybody who wants to feel less isolated.

The app is easy to use and is not demanding on the user. The user and his/her circle of contacts can view and log location, activities and details, and share these if he/she wishes to.

The app operates in two modes:
(1) Dropping a single update, or a KRUMB, as needed. This is the default mode, where the user has the freedom to give updates when and if he/she wants to;
(2) Dropping continuous updates, or KRUMBS. This option allows the user to give updates continuously at a touch of a switch, may be stopped in the same manner. This is particularly useful if you want your family and friends to monitor and be aware of your route for information or security purposes.

To be able to share your updates to your circle of contacts, and for them to view the same, you and your contacts need to register with a valid email address to the app. Once registered, your profiles may be searchable. You may then go ahead and set the appropriate permission/acceptance.

The app provides for 2 circles to be defined and set by the user: one for Family, and one for Friends. The user can control who or what circle may be allowed to view his/her updates at any time.

Logging into the app automatically provides an update of the user's location. For the user to add updates, he/she may select icons that indicate current activity (i.e. Dining, Parking, Shopping,....), in a particular type of area (i.e. Mall, House, School,...). If the user needs to say more, he/she can just tap on the write icon (signified by a pen) and write a short message.

The app keeps the last 20 hours worth of your and your circles' updates. To review, just go to "Circles" in the navigation pane, and their krumbs will show up in a map (centered on the most recent update) with the list summary at the bottom. To view the krumbs of a particular contact, just search in the list summary and tap on "KRUMBS".

What is nice about this app is that it does not only let your circle of contacts know about your location and activity, but you may use this app to send out an SOS message to them in times of emergency. This is possible even when you are offline. Offline is when one does not have any data access, but still have mobile network service. This is also one of the feature of this app, just tap "Offline" at the log-in page. Your updates (url link to your location in goggle map) will then be sent via SMS to your emergency contact that may be set in "Settings".

You may have family members or friends who are not registered to this app, but worry not, the app has the Share feature for you to send them your location thru Facebook, Google+, Viber, and SMS (if data access is not available).
