Don't get Control-R wifi module. It doesn't make it easy if your wifi network changes. It wont even reset so I can set up the new network. App is not good and doesn't get improvements. I hope I can keep someone from going through this. I'm just getting the standard controller now.

Not able to connect to the module nor even open the app. Called customer support and after 30 minutes on hold with the, hung up. I would not recommend Rinna to anyone wanting a tankless water heater with recirculation. Customer service is terrible.

I have tried using this multiple times with my tankless water heater and it has never worked. It always errors out or just won't connect. 8/10/2020 update: my module was replaced under warranty as I was told it was bad. I was hoping this might help, however, it did not. I stand by my initial review. While the water heater itself works; the controllers do not. The app still errors out while trying to register the device. Don't waste your time with this app.

Huge improvements have been made and the app works great now. Thankful for a company that listens and improves where it's needed. Great job Rinnai. 1 - create your account 2 - verify your email 3 - register your product 4 - make sure your wifi is a 2.4ghz network

UPDATE July '20: Finally called support. Tried all kinds of tricks, but WIFI module wouldn't connect. They sent a new one with updated firmware. I installed and connected immediately. App is not great, but at least I have temp / schedule control back. Support person was great. Original: Used to connect to my home wifi and be minimally useful, but after recent updates (including May 7 '20), can't even connect to the controller wifi - just times out.

Always disconnected, the recirc button goes missing for some reason. The regular buttons never work either. The temp keeps randomly changing. It's one of the worst products I have ever used.
