This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Theme Tester on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

About this app

This is an app that can be used as a tool for ROM Developers and Themers of all kinds. There is a "Plus" paid version that has additional features and will get the new features first.

This app is divided into 3 tabs:

-> Form Widgets - Various form widgets such as buttons, checkboxes, radio buttons, etc.

-> Dialogs - Progress dialogs, Alert Dialogs, and Notifications

-> App Icons - Shows application icons drawn from the system (available in the "Plus" version)

This app can be used by ROM Developers and Themers to showcase all the UI elements that they have changed from the stock experience.

Developers can use this app to test their themes before releasing them to the public. Also, feel free to use this app in screenshots in Play Store listings.

This app is compatible with all platforms 2.2 and up (including 4.0.3). The 4.x.x version supports the use of the action bar and split action bar.
