It's a wonderful app for all healthcare professionals dealing with preterm neonates. The language in the videos or scripts is very easy to comprehend. The job aids can easily be downloaded and laminated and can be used in the NICU as a resource material. The most rewarding part is generation of completion certificates which helps in motivation and self learning.

Excellent and beautiful app touching upon the basics. Easy to comprehend videos and webinars. Locked modules generates a sense of eagerness to complete one so that next be unlocked. A must need for all healthcare professionals working in this field.

This application is a seamless harmony of knowledge and technology, opening a universe of resources at the complete disposal of a student, fellow and paediatrician practicing neonatology. It is a complete package with resources in the form of script, webinar, videos, FAQ’s & Q&A’s. I sincerely congratulate Prof. Ashok Deorari & his entire team who worked selflessly to develop this app. I am sure this app will help in dissemination of best practices for care of preterm at the grass roots.

About this app

This educational tool has been contributed by eminent neonatologists and nurses from all over India. The ten modules focus on improving the quality of medical practices by doing no harm, resulting in the best outcomes for preterm neonates.

Each module has some learning objectives which are stated upfront in the module. Each module uses webinars, videos of routine procedures and practices, text materials for self reading, case studies and posters which are followed by multiple choice questions at the completion of each learning objective. The participants pass the module and generate their certificate only if they have attained 80% marks in the multiple choice questions. After certificate
generation, the participant is eligible for participation in the skill training and simulation workshop which is done by a team of facilitators. This workshop involves hand on and each module requires a day for completion.

We as a team involved with the creation and implementation of the educational material strongly believe that this new educational methodology of learning involving simulation has a built in potential for implementation; thus improving the quality of preterm baby care.

The entire package (self learning, skill building and simulation) is envisioned to be administered by state medical colleges to the SNCU’s under their supervision via Hub and Spoke model in a blended learning environment.
