About this app

●Baby Songs To Go To Sleep

Some babies fall asleep at the drop of a hat, whilst others seem to struggle to settle down for their sleeps and all sleep deprived parents of young babies long to have babies that sleep easily and wake refresh and in a good mood. Luckily, this can be achieved by introducing a pre sleep routine that incorporates baby songs to get to sleep.
Whilst all babies like to sleep and it is something that they spend much of their time doing in the early months, sadly, most babies find the transition from being awake to falling asleep difficult some times and particularly around the four month point as they alter their sleep patterns to sleeping much more at night and having just one nap in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Babies as young as six weeks are clever enough to understand a pre-sleep routine so it is well worth getting one established by this age and to consider incorporating baby song to go to sleep. Traditional lullabies ( sometimes called ‘cradle songs’) have worked well in aiding babies to relax and fall asleep and medical studies have shown that babies often sleep more soundly if they have been sung a lullaby as they will have dozed off happy and relaxed rather than stressed and agitated as they have had difficulties settling and have become over tired.

It is well worth thinking about sleep routines both for day time sleeps and at bedtime. There needs to be a distinct change in tempo as babies are easily excited and stimulated by everyday family life. True, babies will often fall asleep on a car journey or family walk where they are lulled by the car engine or buggy, but when they are at home, it is best to move them to the nursery as they show signs of tiredness. Close the curtains so that the light is dim and place them in their bed as you sing to them and very soon your baby will fall asleep – but continue singing for a few minutes as an abrupt ending could cause your baby to wake again!
The difference between day and night is something young babies do not know, so it is well worth thinking about your baby’s bedtime routine. Specialists say that the routine should last no more than 30 minutes and than a warm bath followed by nappy change and nightclothes is beneficial. A bedtime feed should follow and as baby looks tired you can gently start singing your baby songs to go to sleep, settling him in his cot before he actually falls asleep.
An important consideration about the bedtime routine is lighting in the nursery. Whilst you will need a little light to see what you are doing and for night time feeds, bright lights will be like sunshine to your baby and will stimulate him to stay wide awake and play – groan!
Far better to use a dimmer switch on your light or a soft night light as this will help your baby to relax after his feed and with the help of your lullabies, drift off to sleep soon….and the big bonus is that you will be able to do the same! .
