The app can only be downloaded and installed, once it's opened, it requires permissions to overlay over other apps, this is the problem on the Redmi A1. It doesnt allow any apps to overlay even after changing settings in developer mode. The Redmi A1 doesn't have notification lights and the mi app doesn't work.

App crashes all the time when the device usage option is turned on. I think the app needs phone usage access but it is not asking permission for that so please update the app soon as possible to fix the issue. How ever the app is good👍😊
