Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing My Tasting Tour on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

About this app

There are hundreds of Websites and Apps that will provide a list of wineries for a given area. My Tasting Tour is unique in that it will create day-long Wine Tasting Tours containing only those wineries that are open on the day of the week and month selected. Our database is nationwide, except for California, since the high density of California wineries makes this Application unnecessary. Options for Maximum Tasting Fee and Total Driving Distance allow users to tailor their day of wine tasting and the Day and Month options allow for planning your trip for any day in the future. Since many wineries are closed on certain days of the week, adjusting the day/month will allow you to find the best time to plan your tour. If a Start Time is specified, a timed route will be created, with estimated arrival times at each winery, time for lunch, with a link to locate restaurants in the vicinity.

The App will attempt to create a circular route, if there are sufficient wineries in the area, to minimize the return trip to your starting location. After traveling half the desired distance, if additional wineries are listed, they will be closer to the starting location. By adjusting the travel distance, you can determine if a circular route is possible.

The App will also find the Closest Winery that will be open for Tasting by the time you would arrive. It considers business hours and Drive Time and Distance provided by Google Maps to locate a winery that will be open by the time you drive there. If you are traveling, the Closest Winery function will only search for wineries in the general direction you have traveled since your last search. If left open, this function will automatically refresh every 10 minutes to keep you informed of wineries up ahead. For the more bohemian personality, this function can be used to produce a day-long wine tasting tour. As soon as you arrive at a winery, the software will add that winery to an omit list and then locate the next closest winery.

The All Wineries option will simply display all wineries that will be open on the day selected, within a given radius of the starting location. From that list a user can select which wineries to visit during the day. This list can be filtered to locate wineries that are: Pet Friendly, Have Food Available, Allows Picnic Lunches, Have Facilities for Private Events, Meaderies, or Cideries.
