This app helped me a lot through my last hiking(3days) with planification of the routes, findding the springs (watter) and most important to get back on the route when I was lost, because some are poorly draw . Consume battery fast so you need to close the app and reopen activate/deactivate gps. It take some time to get used. If you plan to stay more than one day take a battery recharger. Also I recommend to get a physical map from infopoint or salvamont. Never get s old.

The app has some great potential. Please make it a payed one and add some of the improvements that users are indicating in feedback area. For me one great feature would be to enable GPS on the phone and show you the position on the map. To see if you are on track or no. I think this option was available in the old version of the app.

Very usefull and precise. Get me on the track in Mehedinti. After first use for couple of hours, I find out that often the app cannot connect to GPS. So, it's useless. Too bad because I saw the potential in areas like Balta Cerbului, Ciolanu Mare, Pietrele Albe. The map was great and very precise. I need to reinstall it (hopefully, I had GSM signal). It worked for couple of hours and then dead again. On the second trip, in coupe of days, app managed to connect to GPS only for few minutes. I must tell, I had permanent position on Google Maps and other Tracking apps.

A very useful and user friendly app. It helped us track our way through Hășmaș and Piatra Craiului (for now). We found a closed route and we think a route feedback from users would be very welcome! Thanks for taking the time and effort to keep people on track!

It can't find my location with only gps, it needs gsm service, so if you are up in the mountain with no service, good luck finding your position even if you downloaded the map previously to have it offline... Even Waze could locate me offline, ofc it only has roads

It would be great if I could click on a marked trail on the map and the app would give me the information about the route. Not just clicking on a specific pin for an area.

"Muntii Nostri" brings nostalgia to the fans of the collection published by Sport-Tourism publishing house between 1974 and 1992. It is a modern travel guide, created using the latest mapping techniques and updated content.
Over the years, the use of Muntii Nostri application has proven its effectiveness and potential to save lives in critical situations up on the mountains, through its content and features:
• each trail comes with clear directions, a description and (where appropriate) observations about seasonality, sections where directions might be unclear due to trail markings that are scarce or barely visible, information about water sources, etc.
• all trails have useful technical details (difficulty, length, total ascent, total descent, duration, maximum elevation, etc.) and a graph.
• each mountain region contains a list of approved trails to the date when the map was published, all based on GPS tracks.
The current version of Muntii Nostri application has an approach that is even closer to the needs of the community:
• the user can download maps and trails, including mountain groups and regions (counties) for offline use.
• each trail comes with points of interest (and reference points), a detailed description of the tourist attractions in the area (where applicable).
• the user can select filter values such as trail type (hiking, cycling and so on), region (county), or the mountain area where the trails are located, trail characteristics (difficulty, duration, distance, total ascent) or together with the trails downloaded on the phone.
• the language depends on the operating system (Romanian or English).
• once the GPS is activated, the trail list is displayed according to the filtered items, comprising the trails closest to the user's location.
• the user can share the trail link on social networks, mail platforms, in personal notes, or directly via text messages.
• the application uses vector layers displaying detailed maps with GPS-based targets for a more effective guidance.
• with a click on the map, details about elevation, positioning accuracy and speed are presented.
• each trail comes with weather information from the nearest town.
