Terrible app. Requires a lot of permissions that shouldn't be necessary for this app, including storage read/modify access, camera access, and location access all the time, even when app is not active. Clearly this app steals user data. Can't believe it is still allowed on play store and Google hasn't taken it down. Would rate 0 stars if possible.

Just like the other comments, why does the app need location on for me to be able to control a light? The only thing that works in this app is the dialog box that asks me for my location. Contacted the company to see if they could fix it but they sent me some janky link to download an apk file that's not in Google Play. Update 07/28: it still doesn't work after turning GPS on. Can you guys guys fix the app?

Ive had the same issue of not being able to connect to my bulb with the playbulb x app . However ive contacted the support group and their solution was to install the 3d party app called( BLE Scanner) and to my surprise installation and scanning with the ble scanner app solved my issue and the playbulb x app can now find my bulb without a problem.

The app is completely broken. No longer connects to bulb and development hasn't updated the app in a long time. Light is now stuck on the last color and unable to change, even with 3rd party apps. Completely useless at this point

Used to work okay. The app has never been amazing. But now it simply wont connect to my devices. Very annoyed. I do not want location services on for a Bluetooth lightbulb. It doesn't need to be. And I didn't have to before. Very disappointed. Was going to change my review but the one I wrote for the last update applies here too. Please remove location services like you did before. They do not need to be on for a Bluetooth lightbulb. These bulbs have worked for over 2 years without location.

This app used to work with my Playbulb rainbow. Now after the new android update, it doesn't work. My bulb will show up as a device, but as soon as I click on it after it is "connected", I get booted back to the main screen and the bulb doesn't show up anymore. Very disappointed. It was never great to begin with, but this update just took it to a whole new level of poor. ***Update: the app has been fixed and seems to be working fine now with my bulb***
