Maybe I've got something set wrong! It works great but as soon as i change focus from the app to another app like YouTube or the camera...just any other app that removes this app from the screen it stops recording points. Minutes later when I go back to the app it starts working again. The resulting .kml file clearly shows that the route and points were not collected. I cant leave it on the screen all the time. If that is a requirement then the app is useless code taking up space on my device.

Great app for taking GPS traces and uploading them to various services. You have full control over how traces are taken and which points will be kept/discarded - perfect for any power user. This does mean it can take a bit of testing and tweaking to set up for your use case, but with the use of profiles you can easily back that up after doing it once and have different profiles for different situations. The only feature missing for me is the option to delete GPX files in-app. No big loss.

Third time now I've uninstalled and reinstalled this app. Used to work really well but since last update its been rubbish. Not recording properly or uploading to a specific platform from my email address.

Very detailed guide how to set up. Displays provide useful information. With your phone settings properly set, it logs consistently. The one thing I can't figure out is how to stop one track and start another, vs pause the current recording

Just not work. No file saved. Bad UI. Is asking for you email password to send your logs (that doesn't exist anyway). Amateurish and suspicious app.

Have been using this app for a few years now, but recently after I've switched to another phone (Huawei P30 Pro), I have noticed that I cannot use the MSL altitude correction anymore as it shows 'n/a' value in the altitude field. All the passive and network locations are turned off and only GPS is used. I've read the FAQ but it does not help... Any hint about what to do to make the correction possible?

Bugs, feature requests, questions - please submit them to github.com/mendhak/gpslogger (issue tracker).

***Notes:

A data connection is used by this app only if you use auto-email or OpenStreetMap or Dropbox features.

Although the app allows 0 second frequencies, it is not recommended as the recording and logging is happening very fast; this could cause instability/hangs. Try 1-3 seconds instead.

If there's a feature that you feel the app should have, you can submit a feature request on the github site.

***Explanation of permissions:

Storage - reading and writing files to the GPSLogger folder on your SD card

Network communication - used when uploading the files (Dropbox, Openstreetmap) or sending emails or authorizing you with Dropbox, Openstreetmap

Your location - used to determine your GPS or tower based location

System tools (automatically start at boot) - used if you choose to start GPSLogger on bootup

Activity recognition - to recognize when phone is still and to pause logging
