I am appalled by the surprise subscription requirement for full use of my mellow. Absolutely unconscionable decision for a $399 machine. There was no subscription when I bought it. Now to use the "premium features" that is; anything that makes it a smart sous vide (the whole reason for buying it) you need a premium subscription. This went from my favorite kitchen appliance to a forgettable gadget that will get buried in my pantry BEHIND my seldom used Snoopy Snow Cone Machine. DON'T BUY IT!!!

Until today this was one of the best few machines I had in my kitchen. Today with the bait and switch subscription for smart features that were included when I bought it, it's going to be a giant white brick in my kitchen. Congratulations, Mellow, on taking your first firm step towards bankruptcy. I'm sure a class action lawsuit is already in the works.

Bait and switch!!! Mellow was sold with stated features, and now owners are forced to pay for a subscription in order to use features that were supposed to be included. In some cases years after purchase! Shady! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Paid $300 for the convenience of having control with my phone. Now I can't use any of the features I bought this for without paying more money monthly now! What a crock, thank you for nothing.

After moving to the subscription based model the product was basically gutted unless you want to pay a monthly fee to use a product you paid several hundred dollars for. No ability to view your history and no ability to use the cooling feature for meals in the future (no access to their recipes either but I feel that's a fair). The app also bugs you everytime you open the app to subscribe. Extremely disappointing and annoying.

Used my friends Mellow and was planning on buying one myself, but now they charge a monthly subscription forget it. Cheaper subscription free products out there.
