The app works okay - it is frequently slow and a bit buggy, and missing a lot of features that are present in the handheld controllers. But you can change temperature and turn it on and off and adjust some basic things from everywhere, and that's neat. Where the whole Kumo Cloud infrastructure falls sadly short is in integration. I integrated Kumo into Google Home and then ended up with three places to adjust temperature - Google Home, Kumo Cloud, and the IR remote that came with the indoor units. Adjusting them in any one of those completely messes up the other two. If I set the temperature in Google Home or using the handheld, Kumo Cloud updates the set temperature to 50 degrees. If I check the current temperature in Google Home, it resets the target temperature to whatever Google Home had it set to last. For $500 for the Kumo WiFi adapters two indoor units, I would expect at least the Kumo Cloud app to be able to read the current settings from the units, and not just pick random values.

This app has always been lackluster: slow to load, slow to update, and can control only a subset of the typical indoor unit features vs. the wall thermostat or infrared remote control. With the January update, the frequent trouble with lagging status and slow fan/temperature/mode changes has intensified and error messages like "Zone is unavailable. Wait a few minutes or contact a technician" are pretty much an everyday thing. Please, try harder.

Nightmarish pairing/initial setup, fails over and over with a generic "write-error" message, but does eventually work after maybe 30 attempts without changing anything. Once the device is connected to the wifi, it's been working well. I did set up a separate SSID on my Unifi AP that is 2.4ghz only to use, though with as inconsistent as the pairing was I'm not sure that's part of what allowed it to work or not.

I agree with the previous critcal posts. Using Android version. Since my review 1 year ago, the app remains slow to connect and unstable, with changes in settings not occurring or occurring incorrectly. New version 2.10.0 permanently loses connection to temp/humidity sensors. Programming mode now seems to work properly. Still needs significant improvement. 5/23/21 Update. App lost connection to ASHPs. Having difficulty reconnecting. Very poor app. Not improving.

Often just will not open at all. Very glitchy. Updated my review since Mitsubishi sent a notice after the fact that the whole Kumo cloud was experiencing difficulty. It's back up now and the app seems to be working again, which is great. Three stars when it works, but still far from the capabilities and functionality of say the Sensi app, which I use at a different location.

It just simply doesn't work well. Slow and inconsistent. For the price of the wifi adapters I expected better. Also for the record I installed a special 2.4ghz only AP just for these dumb kumo adapters and it still sucks. 5/2/21 Update: Upgrading to three stars becuase its been working fine the last couple months. Still a little clunky but functional. 5/24/21 Update: Back to 1 star. It's acting up again. Verified multiple other users having issues online. Terrible...
