About this app

Op de avond van 10 mei 1940 arriveren de eerste Duitse troepen Wageningen. In de ochtend van 11 mei vallen Duitse eenheden de voorposten van de Grebbeberg aan. De zwaarste strijd op Nederlands grondgebied in de begindagen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog is begonnen. De strijd duurt drie dagen.

Wandel- en fietsroute
Deze app neemt je - aan de hand van twee routes - op een interactieve wijze mee langs belangrijke plekken van de strijd. Het vertelt het persoonlijk verhaal van de soldaten aan de hand van luisterverhalen en toont de slag en de sporen van de strijd in woord en beeld.

Hoe te gebruiken
Download de app voordat je aan de route begint. De routes kunnen gestart worden bij het Militair Ereveld Grebbeberg te Rhenen, Hotel ’t Paviljoen te Rhenen of Hotel de Wereld te Wageningen. De routes kunnen in elke richting afgelegd worden. Tijdens het wandelen of fietsen worden ‘push notificaties’ gegeven indien je in de buurt komt van een informatiepunt.

Verbinding
Om tijdens het wandelen of fietsen de positie op de kaart te kunnen bepalen, is een GPS verbinding nodig. Een internetverbinding is niet vereist. Let op: Langdurig gebruik van GPS kan de levensduur van de accu drastisch verminderen.
