Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Color Watch Face on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

Color Watch Face is a minimal watch face that mixes the concepts of the HSL color space (Hue, Saturation, Brightness) and time.

The background color changes hue every day, delivering 360 different hues in 365 (or 366) days per year. Given the hue, the color will be brighter and more saturated during the day, darker and more greyish during the night.

The watch face shows the time, date, wearable battery level and handheld battery level in a minimalistic fashion. You can choose to show or hide every element but the time. You can also control what is shown when the device is in ambient mode.

You can customise the app to get the color you want for different periods of the year. For example, if you live in a place with cold winters and hot summers, you can choose to start with cyan on January and reverse che color wheel to get green springs, red summers, purple autumns and blue winters.
If you live in a place with hot winters and cold summers, you can reverse the behaviour.

If you want only super bright colors or very dark ones, you can set the minimum and maximum values for saturation and lightness.

If you want just good looking and carefully chosen colors, you can restrain the colors to the Material Design palette, and the computed color will be turned into the most similar one from the palette.

Finally, you got an explanation screen that shows you how the color has been computed, giving you information about the percentage of the year and the day that passed.
