There are many wonderful examples of effective and fruitful local churches being ‘salt and light’ in their communities. Still the great challenge remains of bridging the increasing gulf between the people following Jesus and the majority unengaged non-church population. This requires a truly missional response that connects with people out in their life context, demonstrates God’s love and compassion, shares the good news of new life in Jesus and multiplies new believers and groups to do the same.

What will it take? A widely accepted ratio in mission is to see at least one faith-community or church for every one thousand people (1:1000). If that was applied to Australia we would need to see over 20,000 new faith-communities, groups or churches multiplied across the country. Clearly, conventional approaches to church planting and evangelism could never address that massive need. Only through rapid multiplication of new believers and groups through the relational networks of general society can such a mission challenge ever hope to be addressed.

Whilst no single training curriculum can work equally well in many varied contexts, there are common Biblical mission principles and processes that do. When wisely adapted and applied they prove fruitful across varied cultures and contexts.

MC² (Multiplying faith-Communities and Churches) is a training process based on:

* The development patterns of the New Testament church,
* The lessons learned from some of the best church planting mission movements around the world, and
* The historic strengths of Campus Crusade for Christ’s global ministry philosophy of “win, build, and send”.

MC² is a simple and transferable training process that can be used to equip people in the essential principles and steps of launching and multiplying faith-communities resulting in church movements.

MC² has the following characteristics:

* 80 hours of classroom or online training in four distinct phases of 20 hours each.
* At least two hours of field practice for every hour of classroom training.
* A trained coach for every five trainees.
* Practical ministry approaches shaped by the patterns of the New Testament such as engaging a community through a person or house of peace; following a strategy of Prayer, Care, Share; and utilizing obedience-based Bible studies.
* Methods of adult education, reflective learning, and practical application.
* Intentional multiplication of biblical faith-communities and churches.
* Demonstrated competency based progression with “just in time” training.

THIS TRAINING IS FOR YOU IF:

* You have a burden to connect non-church people with Jesus.
* You are committed to launching out missionally through prayer/care/share, finding people of peace, sharing the gospel, making new disciples and gathering fruit into self-sustaining reproducing groups.
