Mapfactor Navigator's most important feature is that it works offline with maps stored on your device, so you don't have to worry about using an excessive amount of mobile data. You download the maps at home on Wi-Fi, and you only have to download the regions that you need. Note that the routing depends on the accuracy of the OSM maps, which may contain errors. Before leaving home for a long road trip, I recommend verifying that the route calculated by this app is actually the route you want.

I've been trying to find a good Google maps replacement for years. The first test I do in each one of them is look up restaurants that have been in my neighborhood for years. This one fails just like many of the others do with an incomplete or out of date list. The developer reached out and explained to me that all of the data is crowdsourced. Well, crowdsourced local data sounds good, but is not a great solution here.

Decent mapping app, but the routing is terrible. It tried to have me leave the back road I was on and go back to the highway which would have taken more than an hour longer instead of just keeping me on the back road like all the other mapping apps suggested. If they could fix that it would be the best nav out there with the options to buy features like traffic and map packs at reasonable cost.

While this app works well enough on the phone, it doesn't seem to be fully Android Auto compatible. It either won't start up for takes forever. If it won't run in Android auto then I'm back to my stand alone Garmin. Before you say it's the phone or the car everything else runs fine in Android auto. Did you read my whole review where I said everything else runs fine in Android auto? Sorry, it's not a dodgy connection, it's the app.

Thoroughly awful. Totally unintuitive. Ridiculous interface. 0 stars. Update 2 years later: 1 star. Still the worst and least intuitive interface of any satnav app, and I have used many of them. Also, I input where I am and where I want to go and CoPilot, MapQuest, Navmii, TomTom, OSM, Sygic, Google Maps, Here We Go all immediately present two or three routing choices. I enter the exact same addresses in MapFactor and it says "Route not found." I really want to like this app, but I can't.

I have been using this tool for a very long time. I am really pleased that it doesn't share my data with anyone and that it works without having a cell tower connection. I went skiing once using Waze, a blizzard hit and the mountain pass was closed! We had to detour and drove right off the edge of Waze maps. I pulled over and broke out Map Navigator to lead us home. Literally saved my skin! Now I need to figure out how to get it to work with Android Auto.
