إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا بیشک اللہ اور ا س کے (سب) فرشتے نبیءِ (مکرمّ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر درود بھیجتے رہتے ہیں، اے ایمان والو! تم (بھی) اُن پر درود بھیجا کرو اور خوب سلام بھیجا کرو
Almighty Allah says: "Surely Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallim). O you who believe! Send Blessings (Durood) and Salutations (Salaams) on the Prophet with worthy Salutation".(Surah al-Ahzab: 56
اسی طرح درود و سلام کے فضائل اور دینی و دنیوی مقاصد کے حصول میں اس کی برکات مستند روایات سے ثابت ہیںحضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا : میرے پاس اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے آنے والا آیا اور عرض کیا یا رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا امتی آپ پر ایک بار درود شریف پڑھے اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے بدلے اس امتی پر دس رحمتیں نازل فرماتا ہے اور اس کے دس درجے بلند کرتا ہے اس کے لئے دس نیکیاں لکھ دیتا ہے اور اس کے دس گناہ مٹا دیتا ہے
نسائی، السنن الکبریٰ، 6 : 21، رقم :
ایک اور مقام پر ارشاد نبوی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہے، حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ روایت کرتے ہیں
میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ صلی اﷲ علیک وسلم میں آپ پر کثرت سے درود شریف پڑھتا ہوں۔ میں کس قدر درود شریف پڑھا کروں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا : جتنا چاہو اگر زیادہ کرو تو بہتر ہے میں نے عرض کیا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا : جتنا چاہو البتہ زیادہ کرو تو بہتر ہے میں نے عرض کیا دو تہائی۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا : جتنا زیادہ کرو تو بہتر ہے میں نے عرض کیا۔ میں سارے کا سارا وظیفہ آپ کے لئے کیوں نہ کرو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا : اب تیرے غموں کی کفایت ہوگی اور گناہ بخش دیئے جائیں گےترمذی، الجامع الصحيح، ابواب الزهد، باب ماجاء فی صفة أوانی الحوض، 4 : 245، رقم : 2457
